Pendelfin Pendelfin models eminate from the neighbouring town of Burnley which nestles below the eerie presence of Pendle Hill from which the company gets it's name. Pendle is perhaps most famous for the Pendle Witches who were tried during the reign of King James I at Lancaster and subsequently executed and the first creation of Pendelfin's founders Jeannie Todd & Jean Walmsley Heap in 1953 was the deep relief wall plaque "The Pendle Witch". Doreen Noel Roberts joined the design team in the following year and in 1955 Father Rabbit was created which was the first of the Pendelfin Rabbits for which the company is now world famous. Each Pendelfin model is produced entirely by hand from a durable stone based compound which reproduces a superbly detailed model and after casting the pieces are skillfully hand painted with the finest artists colours. Paul Smith China stocks a wide range of these highly collectable models together with the props which do so much to set off this excellent collection. |
