Mason's Ironstone In the Eighteenth Century Yorkshireman Miles Mason and his three sons created a pottery which was both durable and beautiful. His patented Mason's Ironstone was so strong that it was even used to make fireplaces, four poster beds and garden seats. Mason's Ironstone however is probably better known for highly ornate typically English designs based on far eastern and oriental themes. Mason's signature colours vivid colbalt blue, rich iron red and gold are still in use today with each piece being painted by hand and finished with 22 carat gold. Both giftware and tableware pieces are available. Unlike many shops of similar size Paul Smith China stocks an extensive range of Blue Mandalay and Chartreuse as well as limited edition pieces and lighting. |
